Auto Injury Treatment

Adjustment

Hands on traditional type of adjustment involves the use of a carefully directed manual pressure on a dysfunctional joint pushing that joint through its normal range of motion to restore healthy position and mobility. During this type of adjustment, the patient often feels the joint release followed by an immediate reduction in pain and muscle tension. Used commonly to Reduce Pain; Swelling; Spasms; Remove/Reduce Scar Tissue formation; Remove Nerve Impingement; Promote circulation (nutrients) to damaged tissues; Restore nervous system communication; Restore muscle balance; and Promote healing.

Extremity Adjustment

An adjustment implemented to care for any joint other than the spine such as shoulders, feet, ankles, hips, knees, fingers, wrists, jaw and more. Used to help restore normal motion to joints that have been locked up or injured.

Laser Therapy

Treatments are performed by positioning the laser hand-piece approx. 1/2” directly above the skin and surrounding the area of injury and pain with the laser treatment beam. Biological effects are Anti-Inflammation, Anti-Pain (analgesic), Accelerated Tissue Repair and Cell Growth, Improved Vascular Activity.

It is used for Pain in any area, Cervical Strain/Sprain; Headaches; Tennis/Golfer’s Elbow, Rotator Cuff Strain, Tendonitis, Postural Strain/Overuse; Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Disc bulge/Hemiation, Osteoarthritis, Bursitis, Ligament/Meniscal injuries; Plantar Fascitis; Nerve Pain; Neuropathy (Diabetes & Other Forms); Non-healing Wounds; Pain & Healing Following Surgery; Trigger Points & Muscle Spasms.

What is Graston Technique?

Specifically designed instruments are used to rub patients’ muscles in order to detect and resolve adhesions in the muscles and tendons. It creates an inflammatory response that will augment the healing process.

Flexion Distraction

This leading form of non-surgical disc injury management, is now available at Coast Chiropractic Centers. Flexion Distraction is an advanced, traction based therapy commonly used to manage the symptoms of disc injury, and various other low back complaints with great success. It is a very effective, safe, gentle, non-force, and non-surgical procedure. Among different chiropractic techniques, Flexion Distraction is superior in managing herniated discs and sciatica.Flexion Distraction involves the use of a specialized table that simultaneously distracts (stretches) and flexes the spine in a gentle cyclic motion. The chiropractor applies gentle pressure to specific areas of contact that is intended to relieve pain, as well as restore motion and realign the spine.

Intersegmental Traction Table

Gently helps reestablish the normal ranges of the body’s spine. Helps facilitate muscle relaxation and reduce muscle spasms. Mobilizes the spinal column while simultaneously and gently stretching ligaments and muscles; Increases blood flow and oxygen to discs, ligaments and muscles, thereby improving balance, strength and mobility.

Ultra-Sound

Deep micro massage which utilizes localized thermal action. Breaks up tissue deposits, relieves edema, decreases hypertonicity of muscles and produces a local analgesia giving relief of pain. Commonly used for Sciatica; Sprains; Strains; Bursitis; Arthritis; Myositis; Disc Conditions; and Neuralgia.

Interferential Current

Used extensively to help manage pain, edema, and inflammation due to soft tissue irritation from trauma or degenerative changes. Commonly Used for pain associated with several conditions including Back Pain; Arthritis; Burtsitis; Tendinitis; Strains and Sprains; Neuralgia; and Degenerative Joint Disease.

Electric Muscle Stimulation

Uses alternating, interrupted, modulated current of high frequency superimposed on a rectified current. Helps with Muscular Atrophy, Adhesions, Backaches, Sprains, Strains and Neuralgia. (Personal pads are recommended.)

Rehab and Strengthening

In office guided rehabilitation strengthening exercises to reeducate your neuromuscular system and help recover as much function as possible. Benefits Include: Injury Prevention; Keeps you aligned; Improves balance and coordination.

Vibratory Massage

Uses a thumper on affected area to increase circulation, increase lymphatic flow, decrease muscle spasm and decrease nervous tension, soothing effect.

Hot Pad

Generally recommended for chronic aches and pains, or new and minor muscular pains. The heat can help improve circulation and reduce muscle spasm.

Ice Massage

Useful to reduce pain and decrease muscle spasm and edema. It’s very important in the early stage of injury. Ice will be applied directly to the affected area on the skin.
