How to Treat Shoulder Pain

Hello SWFL......  It's Dr. Harcourt speaking to the athletes in this town.  Play tennis and suffer from elbow and/or shoulder pain?  Play golf and have that nagging irritating pain on the inside of the elbow?  Possbily you don't play a sport and when you roll over on the sore shoulder it wakes you out of your sleep?  If you said yes to any of these this blog may help you towards healing and an increased quality of life.

What do all of the activities listed above have in common?  Repetition...Repetition.....Repetition...Repetition. 

What makes repetitive motion harder on the body?  Poor technique or execution. 

What follow the previous two?  Compensation....

What follows compensation?  Reduced biomechanical efficiency and an increase in friction. 

What follows this?  More irritation.  Now a full blown rotator cuff syndrome, tennis or golfer's elbow.

 

What is the fix for all of the above?

1. Healing of affected tissue (Graston technique, High Dosage Diowave Laser, CBD Phonphoresis, Elbow and/or shoulder manipulation)

2. Strengthen affected tissue
